MANILA, Philippines — Fair weather is expected on Thursday in Metro Manila and most parts of the rest of Luzon and the Visayas, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa, in its early morning update, reported that cloudy skies and scattered rain showers due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) are expected in Eastern Visayas, Palawan and the entire Mindanao, while Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have fair weather with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstormsmin the afternoon and evening.
“Sa kasalukuyan, patuloy na umiiral [ang ITCZ] sa bahagi ng Eastern Visayas, Palawan, at buong Mindanao. As early as madaling araw, may thunderstorm activity na nararanasan ang mga mga kababayan natin dito sa Zamboanga Peninsula” said Pagasa weather forecaster Daniel James Villamil in the bureau’s morning weather forecast.
(Currently, the ITCZ is prevailing over Visayas, Palawan, and all of Mindanao. By dawn, thunderstorms are possible in the Zamboanga Peninsula.)
Pagasa warned of possible flash floods and landslides in rain-affected areas.
No gale warning is in effect nationwide.
