TAGBILARAN CITY — Four people were injured after a 10-wheeler delivery truck lost its brakes in Alicia town, Bohol on Wednesday, Oct. 5.

Staff Sergeant Milon Lech Suico, traffic investigator at Alicia Police Station, said the driver, Samuel Ariana, 27, of Cortes town, Bohol, lost control of the truck, prompting him to hit the street gutter.

“The driver admitted that the trailer truck experienced loss of brake,” said Suico.

Ariana told the police that he checked the truck’s brakes before the incident and found nothing irregular.

But while traversing Purok 2 in Barangay La Hacienda in Alicia, he found out it lost its brakes and he was struggling to keep his truck within the lanes of the highway.

The truck was loaded with dry goods and was headed to Alicia from Carmen town.

The goods checker, Melanie Saman, and truck helpers, Steven Minguito, 22, and Jonathan Maldona, 31, sustained minor injuries.

They were brought to Alicia municipal health office for treatment.
