DOJ chief to meet with UN rights execs in Geneva

MANILA, Philippines — Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla is set to meet with high officials of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva, Switzerland.

In a statement, the Department of Justice (DOJ) said Remulla will be in Geneva from Oct. 4 to Oct. 14 to attend the 51st HRC Enhance Interactive Dialogue and Bilateral Meetings, and for the State’s Constructive Dialogue/ Revalida with the Human Rights Committee on the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

The DOJ chief will either meet with Acting High Commissioner Nada Al Nashaif or incoming High Commissioner Volker Turk.

Remulla is also expected to have an engagement with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi and International Committee of the Red Cross Vice President Gilles Carbonnier.
