MANILA, Philippines — A total of 1,967 new infections of COVID-19 were registered by the Department of Health (DOH) on Monday, bringing active infections to 28,111.
These new infections bring the total COVID-19 caseload to 3,955,758, with 3,864,605 recoveries and 63,042 deaths, according to the DOH COVID-19 Tracker.
The new infections are lower than the daily average of 2,288 infections recorded from Sept. 26 to October 2.
Among the regions Metro Manila continues had the highest number of infections in the last two weeks by a significant margin with 13,855, followed by Calabarzon with 5,650 and Central Luzon with 2,832.
In terms of individual areas, Quezon City continues to lead with 3,430 infections, followed by Cavite with 1,891 and Rizal with 1,770.
Only 11,418 individuals were tested for COVID-19 on Sunday.
