Cavite drug suspect arrested, P2.7 M shabu seized

LUCENA CITY – Police arrested a drug suspect and seized some P2.7 million worth of shabu following a buy-bust operation in Dasmariñas City, Cavite Saturday afternoon.

In a report Sunday, the Police Regional Office 4A (PRO-4A) said a composite team from the anti-illegal drugs unit of PRO-4A, Cavite drug enforcement unit, and local policemen collared Lewis Longcanaya in Barangay (village) H2 at around 5:50 p.m.

Authorities seized a total of 400 grams of shabu.

Authorities said Longcanaya is considered a high-value target.

“We will not stop running after these peddlers of illegal drugs,” Police Brigadier General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., PRO-4A chief, said in a statement.

In Taytay, Rizal, anti-narcotics agents arrested two drug suspects and seized P136,000 worth of shabu in another sting operation also on Saturday.

The suspects, identified as Benedict Victoria and Mavie Maaba, were collared at around 7:40 p.m. in Barangay Dolores, the PRO-4A said in another report.

The arrested suspects in Cavite and Rizal suspects were detained and will face a formal complaint for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
