Abalos refuses to enter plea on electoral sabotage case

MANILA, Philippines—Former Comelec Chairman Benjamin Abalos Sr. refused to enter a plea on the crime of electoral sabotage.

Lawyer Brigido Dulay maintained that the Pasay Court had no jurisdiction to hear the case.

Abalos is facing a separate case of electoral sabotage before the Pasay City Regional Trial Court Branch 112 for allegedly rigging the 2007 elections in North Cotabato.

His co-accused, North Cotabato election supervisor Yogie Martirizar, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Abalos faces another case of electoral sabotage for the 2007 elections in South Cotabato pending before the Pasay City RTC Branch 117 where he also refused to enter a plea.
