LUCENA CITY – The vice mayor and a councilor of Pitogo town in Quezon province were injured in a road accident on Friday, Sept. 30, said a police report on Saturday, Oct. 1.
The Quezon police said Pitogo Vice Mayor Paul Timothy Capino, 42, was the one driving with councilor Alexander Mosquite, 43, as his passenger, when he lost control of the vehicle, a Toyota RAV4, while negotiating a curved section of the road in Barangay (village) Amontray at around 11:30 p.m.

The two were going to the neighboring town of Gumaca.
Police said the sport utility vehicle then crashed into the fence of a house and then hit an electric post on the roadside.
The two sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital in Gumaca town.
Police are conducting further investigation.
