CQCU climbs to 3rd place
THE CEBU Queen City United (CQCU) FC moved to third place in the team standings after logging a 5-2 victory over Manila All-Japan FC in yesterday’s United Football League (UFL) Second Division Tournament at the Turf at Bonifacio Global City.
Yesterday’s success also stretched the Cebuano’s winning streak to six.
CQCU FC squeaked past Agila FC at third place with 22 points off a 7-1-2 (win-draw-loss) record.
With all of its matches already played, Agila FC ended the first round with 21 points and a 7-0-4 record.
Scoring goals for CQCU FC were John Michael Flores, Rene Menchavez Jr., Marion Rey Cubelo (2) and Benedict Luis Arriola.
CQCU has a chance to solidify its hold of third place when it plays against Lions Meltique Beef FC next weekend. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
