Man hacks mother-in-law in Masbate town

LEGAZPI CITY — A 78-year-old woman was wounded after she was hacked by her son-in-law in Milagros town, Masbate province, on Friday (September 30) morning.

Masbate police identified the victim as Josefina Lancetas, a resident of Barangay Capaculan in the said town.

The initial investigation said while Jose Lobiano, 63, was preparing for breakfast, he heard his mother-in-law, Lancetas, shouting unpleasant words at him while outside his house at around 7:30 a.m.

Police said Lobiano lost his temper and hacked the victim using a bolo.

Lancetas sustained hack wounds to different parts of her body and was taken to Masbate provincial hospital for treatment.

The police immediately responded and arrested the suspect. INQ
