SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — This province targets to vaccinate at least 13,500 residents against COVID-19 as it joins the nationwide special vaccination drive.
Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said municipal health offices in 13 towns would administer the second dose of vaccines and booster shots.
Bueno said the vaccination drive started Tuesday and end on Friday.
So far, only 407,753 residents, or 62.77 percent of the province’s population, have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
At least 22,493 residents, or 3.36-percent, were waiting for their second dose, while 219,369, or 33.77-percent, have yet to be vaccinated against the viral disease.
Meanwhile, four towns became COVID-free as the active cases stood at 15.
A total of 12,380 cases had been recorded in the province since 2020. Of this figure, at least 11,649 had recovered, and 716 had died. INQ
