LEGAZPI CITY — Two more fishermen from Mercedes town in Camarines Norte province were reported missing at the height of Super Typhoon Karding (international name: Noru).

Lieutenant Colonel Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, on Wednesday identified the missing fishermen as Rodel Carullo, 37, the boat captain from Barangay San Roque, and Ricky Nuñez, 40, a crew from Barangay Manguisoc in the town.

The report said the fishermen ventured out to sea on a motorized boat on Sept. 22 and were expected to return on Sept. 26, a day after Karding ravaged Luzon.

Earlier, Gremil Alexis Naz, Office of Civil Defense Bicol spokesperson, reported three missing fishers identified as Roger Pun-an, 59, the boat captain; and his two crew, Gerome Pun-an, 19; and Efren Lozada Jr., 42, all of Barangay San Roque.

They ventured out to sea on Sept. 19 and were expected to return home on Sept. 25, the day Karding hit land.

Calubaquib said their relatives had coordinated with the authorities for search, rescue, and retrieval operations.
