MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) entered the Philippine area of responsibility on Wednesday and may develop into a tropical depression, according to state meteorologists.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the LPA has no direct impact on the country except for its trough causing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over easter Visayas and Caraga.
“Yung LPA na minomonitor natin ay na sa loob na nga ng area of responsibility, at kaninang alas tres ay huli itong namataan sa 1,240 kilometers silangan ng extreme northern Luzon, at mayroon itong posibilidad na ma-develop into a tropical depression within 48 hours,” said Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda in the bureau’s public weather forecast.

Meanwhile, Occidental Mindoro and Palawan may expect cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon or habagat, said Pagasa.
The state weather bureau also stated that Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to the southwest monsoon or localized thunderstorms.
Pagasa cautioned areas affected by rain of possible flash floods or landslides.
No gale warnings are raised but the northern and western sections of Luzon will experience moderate to rough waves, said Pagasa.

Metro Manila — 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
Baguio — 17 to 24 degrees Celsius
Laoag — 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
Tuguegarao — 24 to 33 degrees Celsius
Legazpi — 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
Puerto Princesa — 24 to 30 degrees Celsius
Tagaytay — 22 to 31 degrees Celsius
Kalayaan Islands — 24 to 29 degrees Celsius
Iloilo — 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
Cebu — 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
Tacloban — 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
Cagayan de Oro — 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
Zamboanga — 24 to 33 degrees Celsius
Davao — 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
