Easter Samar town Vice Mayor Gil Norman Germino, 63
TACLOBAN CITY — The vice mayor of Can-avid town in Eastern Samar succumbed to a lingering illness in a hospital in Manila on Monday, September 26.
The remains of Vice Mayor Gil Norman Germino, 63, are expected to arrive in Can-avid before Friday, September 30, according to Councilor Melvin Coso in a phone interview.
“We were all shocked and saddened by the death of our vice mayor for he has done a lot to our beloved town when he was our mayor,” Coso said.
Coso said Germino will be succeeded by Councilor Wilfredo Busa, who has yet to take his oath of office.
When Germino served as mayor of Can-avid, the town received the “seal of good housekeeping award” from the Department of Interior and Local Government several times.

He served the public as either mayor or vice mayor from 2010 to 2022.
