MANILA, Philippines — Zambales, and parts of Pangasinan, Tarlac, and Pampanga remain under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 as Typhoon Karding (international name: Noru) slightly weakens, moving west-northwest away from Luzon and towards Vietnam.
In its 11 a.m. weather bulletin on Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the center of the eye of Karding was last located 230 kilometers west of Dagupan City in Pangasinan, packing maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph.
“Karding will begin to move generally westward in the next 12 hours, and will continue its westward track as it moves over the West Philippine Sea towards Vietnam,” Pagasa said.
The state weather bureau said Zambales, Bataan, Lubang Islands, and the western portion of Pangasinan will still experience light to moderate with at times heavy rains until late afternoon Monday while “occasional to monsoon rains” may also occur over western parts of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and the Visayas in the next 24 hours.

- Northwestern portion of Pampanga – Mabalacat City, Angeles City, Porac, Floridablanca

Pagasa further said a gale warning remains hoisted over the western seaboards of Northern and Central Luzon while it predicted moderate to rough seas in Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao due to the enhanced southwest monsoon, locally termed “habagat.”
