MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Friday said it is considering expanding the walkway of the Edsa Busway-Monumento station to make its access easier for commuters.
The idea was raised by
MMDA acting chairman Carlo Dimayuga III raised the idea following an on-site inspection of the area with Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board Executive Director Robert Peig.
Dimayuga likewise vowed to deploy additional traffic enforcers in the area, especially during rush hours.

He further said the MMDA would also set up portalets and tents at the bus station.
The Edsa Busway project, which started operations in 2020, has 18 bus stops so far located in the cities of Caloocan, Quezon, Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasay, and Parañaque.
Currently, the Edsa Busway project offers free rides. However, president Ferdinand Marcos Jr. extended the free ride program until December 31, with the government releasing an additional P1.4 billion as a subsidy.— Christian Paul Dela Cruz, trainee
