DOTr adds two Edsa Busway stations
MANILA, Philippines — Two additional Edsa Busway stations were opened by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Thursday.
Transport chief Jaime Bautista led the formal opening of the new bus stops along Roxas Boulevard and Taft Avenue.
“Together with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, the addition of the Roxas Boulevard and Taft Avenue Busway stations is part of the department’s objective of continuous improvement of the road transport sector through various initiatives,” the DOTr said in a statement.
The Edsa Busway, which started its operations in 2020, is a bus rapid transit line that passes through stations Monumento, Bagong Barrio, Balintawak, Kaingin Road, Muñoz, North Avenue, Quezon Avenue, Nepa-Q Mart, Main Avenue (Cubao), MRT-3 Santolan-Annapolis, Ortigas, Guadalupe, Buendia, MRT-3 Ayala, newly-opened stops Taft Avenue and Roxas Boulevard, SM Mall of Asia, and Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange.
Free rides in Edsa Busway will remain effective until December this year as approved by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the DOTr earlier announced.
