MIDSAYAP, Cotabato — Unidentified men riding on a motorbike ambushed and killed a Maguindanao trader in this town on Tuesday afternoon.

Lieutenant Colonel Rolly Oranza, Midsayap police chief, identified the fatality as Bon Jovi Sindatok Edzla, 53, a rice miller and dealer of Datu Piang town, Maguindanao.

Edzla, who had a failed bid for a seat in the Datu Piang municipal council in last May’s local elections, was driving his Isuzu pickup vehicle (LFJ 269) when suspects ambushed him at 4 p.m. along Quezon Avenue in Barangay Poblacion in Midsayap.

He died while undergoing treatment at Amado Diaz Hospital, the police said.
