MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) monitored outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) has moved away from the country on Wednesday and is unlikely to become a storm, said state meteorologists.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the LPA is currently 1,105 kilometers east of central Luzon. On the other hand, it is the southwest monsoon or habagat that will bring rain to parts of the country, Pagasa said.
“Kaninang alas tres, ang low pressure area na minomonitor natin, nananatiling mababa ang tsansa nito maging bagyo within 24 to 48 hours at patuloy itong tumatahak na pa-silangan, palayo yan sa ating kalupaan, palabas ng ating area of responsibility. At sa kasalukuyan, southwest monsoon pa rin o habagat yung patuloy na nakakaapekto sa bahagi ng central at southern Luzon” said Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda in the bureau’s public weather forecast .
(As of 3 a.m., the low pressure area that we are monitoring still has a low chance of becoming a storm within the next 24 to 48 hours, and it is traveling eastwards, away from our land and our of our area of responsibility. At present, it is the southwest monsoon or habagat that will continue to affect parts of central and southern Luzon).

According to Pagasa’s latest bulletin, Metro Manila, Bataan, Zambales, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro and Northern Palawan including Cuyo Islands will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to the southwest monsoon or localized thunderstorms.
The state weather bureau warned that areas affected by rainfall may experience flash floods or landslides.

Baguio — 16 to 22 degrees Celsius
Laoag — 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
Tuguegarao — 24 to 34 degrees Celsius
Legazpi — 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
Puerto Princesa — 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
Tagaytay — 22 to 28 degrees Celsius
Kalayaan Islands — 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
Iloilo — 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
Cebu — 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
Tacloban — 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
Cagayan de Oro — 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
Zamboanga — 24 to 34 degrees Celsius
Davao — 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
