MANILA, Philippines – Authorities have confiscated 12 shotguns and three pistols from the armed men who occupied the area near Masungi Georeserve in Tanay, Rizal, according to a statement from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Region 4A on Tuesday.
“Reports indicate that the Regional Civil Security Unit 4A, confiscated 12 shotguns and three cal. 38 pistols from the security guards detailed with the Sinagtala Security Agency at Sitio Pinagtarangkahan, Cuyumbay, Tanay, Rizal, for failure to present license during an inspection,” said the Police Regional Office 4A in the same statement.
No arrests have been announced as of reporting.

However, Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., acting PNP Regional Director of Police Regional Office 4A, assured the public that authorities will return a sense of normalcy to Masungi Georeserve after policemen seized the firearms of the armed men who were occupying the vicinity.
On Monday, PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. has also ordered a probe for the possible involvement of active or retired police officials.
