Man nabbed for church ‘robbery’ in Bulacan

CITY OF SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, Bulacan — A robbery suspect victimizing churches in this city was arrested by local police on Monday, September 19.
Col. Relly Arnedo, Bulacan police director, said Samuel Lorenzana was arrested during a follow-up operation at about 4 a.m. in Barangay Sto. Cristo.
Lorenzana allegedly broke into the Cross Over Christian Ministry Church in Sto. Cristo at 12:30 a.m. that day and carted away a laptop worth P20,000, a mobile phone worth P10,000, and other gadgets worth P8,000.
Earlier, police said the same suspect broke into The Church of Jesus Latter-day Saints in Barangay Mulawin and stole a video camera, a projector, and a gold medallion.
Police recovered from him an improvised gun and the items he had stolen. His two other companions, however, managed to escape.
