Lower power rates seen in Olongapo City this month

OLONGAPO CITY — Residents of this city are expected to pay lower power rates starting this month after the local electricity distributor announced the reduction in charges.

The Olongapo Electricity Distribution Company, Inc. (OEDC) on Monday (Sept. 19) said its rates will be adjusted by P2.59 per kilowatt-hour (kWh).

As a result, the rates of OEDC will go down to P15.1711 per kWh from P17.7637 per kWh last month.

Last week, OEDC announced that it was mitigating the impact of the increasing prices of coal in the global market on power consumers. INQ
