COVID-19 positivity rate in Zambales drops further
OLONGAPO CITY — While some of the provinces in Luzon saw an increase in their weekly COVID-19 positivity rate recently, Zambales experienced an improving situation, according to Octa Research on Monday, Sept. 19.
From 10 percent on Sept. 10, Zambales’ positivity rate went down further to 4.4 percent as of Sept. 17.
Octa said the province’s positivity rate is considered “low” and among the lowest in Central Luzon.
As of Sunday, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Zambales stood at 16 after recording one new patient that day. It logged zero new infections the previous day.
Since 2020, the province has registered 12,357 COVID-19 cases, of which 11,627 have recovered. It has a recovery rate of 94.09 percent.
The COVID-19 death toll in Zambales remained at 714, with no new fatalities in the past few days. INQ
