Lightning kills 1, injures 2 in Camarines Sur

NAGA CITY, Philippines—One person was killed and two others injured when lighting struck a group of farmers harvesting rice  Friday afternoon in Barangay San Francisco, Magarao, Camarines Sur, police told the Inquirer Saturday.

PO2 Medel Ramos, desk officer at the Magarao Municipal Police Station, identified the fatality as Sebastian B. Luna, 25, of Barangay Bel of Magarao, who suffered third-degree burns and was declared dead on arrival at the Bicol Medical Center here.

He said the two other victims suffered second-degree burns and were being treated at BMC. He identified them as Gregorio B. Almiro, 25, and Fernando M. Romero, 56, both from Barangay San Francisco, also in Magarao, five kilometers from Naga.
