‘RH is everybody’s game’

MANILA, Philippines—It’s everybody’s game. One group can’t just score alone.

Saying other religions must also have a say on the controversial reproductive health bill, interfaith groups urged lawmakers anew to vote on the measure, which they consider long overdue.

The Interfaith Partnership for the Promotion of Responsible Parenthood (IPPRP) reiterated its call for the passage and immediate implementation of the much-debated RH bill. The group is committed to advancing the issues of family planning, reproductive health and population and development.

“This is the legacy that you, our leaders, will be remembered by the Filipino people for generations to come,” the alliance said in a press conference yesterday.

Taking a swipe at the Catholic Church which is strongly opposed to the bill, Marlon Lacsamana of the Queer Pagan Network said the Church hierarchy is “not the only one entitled to religious indignation.”
