MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Friday said up to 12,000 jobs are up for grabs for the North-South commuter railway and Metro Manila Subway projects.
To address this, the agency will open a job fair in Calamba City this month to look for workers for the projects, according to DOTr Undersecretary for Rails Cesar Chavez.
“Yung construction kasi nangangailangan ng maraming manggagawa. Dahil ongoing ang construction ng Metro Manila Subway at North-South Commuter Railway Project,” Chavez said over Teleradyo.
(The construction needs many workers because the construction of the Metro Manila Subway and North-South Commuter Railway Project is ongoing.)
“Ang estimate po namin ay 12,000 initially ang mga manggagawa. Ongoing na rin naman na ang proseso ng paghahanap na ‘yan,” Chavez said over Teleradyo.
(Our initial estimate is 12,000 workers. The search process for workers is already underway.)
