PH logs 2,141 new COVID-19 cases

DOH clings to boosters as severe COVID among vaccinated rises

MANILA, Philippines — The country recorded 2,141 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing the total caseload to 3,913,536, according to the Department of Health (DOH) case tracker.

Of the case total, 24,843 are active cases, accounting for 0.64 percent of cases, while 3,780,844 or 97.75 percent have recovered.

There are also a total of 62,343 deaths or 1.61 percent of all cases.

The current positivity rate is at 13.8 percent, above that of the World Health Organization’s benchmark of five percent.
