No more funds for educational assistance — DSWD Western Visayas
BACOLOD CITY — The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office in Western Visayas on Wednesday announced that there would be no educational assistance payouts for indigent students in the region on September 17 and 24 because the funds provided by its central office have run out.
In a statement on its Facebook page, the DSWD-Western Visayas said there have been 36,131 students-in-crisis who have been given a total of P101,326,000 in educational assistance in the region.
“Much as we would like to continue the distribution of educational assistance, there are no funds left,” it said.
The DSWD in the region has informed its central office of the matter, but so far, no additional funds have been given.
