Suspect in rape-slay of teen girl in Cavite nabbed

LUCENA CITY — Police arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 14, the main suspect in the rape-slay of a 16-year-old girl in Trece Martirez City in Cavite province.

The Region 4A police reported that Elden Alegria, 33, of Barangay Manuyan, was nabbed in San Jose Del Monte City in Bulacan province.

The police said Alegria was the principal suspect in the killing and sexual molestation of the girl who was found dead on Sept. 12 under a bridge in Barangay Cabuco in Trece Martirez.

Alegria’s live-in partner identified the personal items found at the crime scene as belonging to the suspect.

The father of the victim said his daughter, a Grade 9 student, left their house on Sept. 11 at about 10 p.m.

Alegria was detained and is facing rape with homicide charges.
