Pedestrian dead, another hurt in Cavite hit-and-run
LUCENA CITY — A female pedestrian died, and her companion was injured in a hit-and-run Wednesday in Dasmariñas City in Cavite province.
Ligaya Santos was with Norman Santos when an Isuzu aluminum white van hit them as they walked at around 4:30 a.m. on the roadside along Aguinaldo highway on their way to church.
The vehicle sped away after the incident.
Ligaya died from the strong impact, while Norman suffered body injuries.
Police later arrested van driver Jefferson Catap. He was detained and is facing criminal charges.
