MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — Three villages in the City of San Fernando in this province have been declared drug-cleared, authorities said Wednesday, Sept. 14.
San Fernando Mayor Vilma Caluag said in a statement that the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.made the declaration on Tuesday.
The Pampanga capital’s mayor, along with city administrator Nelson Lingat and city local government operations officer Jason Veran, received from PDEA-Central Luzon director Bryan Babang the copies of resolutions declaring Del Carmen, Magliman, and Malpitic as “free from illegal drug trade.”
The village chiefs of these localities were also present during the ceremony.
Caluag said barangay captains Jingy Bacani, Franklin Lising, and Noel Tungol “were instrumental in eradicating illegal drug-related challenges in their respective communities.”
Veran said 15 of the capital city’s 35 villages are now classified as drug-cleared. INQ
