Quezon cop charged with physical abuse

LUCENA CITY — A police officer in Lopez town in Quezon province is in hot water after his former partner charged him with physical abuse.

Lopez police reported that Ana Rose Alfaro on Tuesday filed a complaint against her former common-law partner, Corporal Arnel Santuyo.

The complainant alleged that on Sept. 11 at 2:30 a.m., she had a heated argument with Santuyo inside their house in Baranga Danlagan.

Alfaro claimed that the policeman “without apparent reason, deliberately slapped her face, grabbed her hair, and pulled her to his room and threatened her.

The woman said similar incidents also happened many times in the past.

The police said Santuyo is at large.
