DOH COVID-19 tracker: 2,038 new infections

MANILA, Philippines — An additional 2,038 fresh infections of COVID-19 were registered by the Department of Health (DOH) on Monday, with active cases slightly decreasing to 25,292.

Based on the DOH COVID-19 tracker, these new cases brought the country’s total caseload to 3,908,295 nationwide, with 3,820,691 recoveries and 62,342 deaths.

These new cases, however, are slightly lower than the average number of daily infections recorded from September 5 to 11 at 2,197.

Meanwhile, the tracker also showed that Metro Manila still had the highest number of infections per region in the last two weeks with 9,201 cases, followed by Calabarzon at 3,795, then Central Luzon at 2,361.

On the other hand, Quezon City still has the most reported cases in the last two weeks at 2,042, followed by Manila and Cavite with a tiny margin of 1,276 and 1,275, respectively.

Only 12,963 individuals were tested for COVID-19 on Sunday, reflecting the number of recorded infections on Tuesday, September 13.
