Active COVID-19 cases in Zambales slightly up

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — The number of active COVID-19 cases in the province increased to 52 after recording four new infections, local data showed Sunday, September 11.

It was the third time since September 7 that the active cases went up after experiencing a downward trend recently.

Despite the slight virus growth, two of the 13 towns remained free of the viral disease. These are Masinloc and Cabangan.

Since 2020, the province has already registered 12,351 COVID-19 cases. At least 11,586 of these patients have already been cleared of the virus.

No new fatalities related to the disease were recorded on Sunday. The province’s COVID-19 death toll still stood at 713, reflecting a 5.78-percent mortality rate. INQ
