Active COVID-19 cases in Zambales fall below 50

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — The number of active COVID-19 cases in this province decreased to 45 after 11 patients recovered from the viral disease, local health data showed on Wednesday.

The provincial health office said the 11 cleared patients brought the local recovery rate to 93.85 percent.

The province has been experiencing a downward trend in new infections in the past few days, although it logged six new cases on Wednesday, September 7.

Its active cases the previous day stood at 50.

Its COVID-19 death toll rose to 713 after one more patient died of the disease.

Two of the 13 towns remained virus-free after recording zero active COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday. These are Masinloc and Palauig.

Since 2020, the province recorded 12,329 COVID-19 cases, of which 11,571 were cleared of the viral disease. INQ
