PH logs 15,379 COVID-19 infections from Sept 5-18
MANILA, Philippines — There had been a total of 15,379 infections of COVID-19 from September 5 to 11, lower than the number recorded the week before, the Department of Health (DOH) said.
The DOH said the weekly released data translates to a daily average of 2,197 — 10 percent lower than the week before at 2,449.
Meanwhile, only 12 or 0.09 percent of the total cases were tagged as severe or critical, bringing the active number of severe or critical cases to 727.
An additional 300 deaths were also added to the country’s COVID-19 death toll — 19 of which occurred in September and another 30 in August. On the other hand, the rest were backlogs recorded as early as June 2020 until November 2021.
Non-ICU-bed utilization slightly decreased from 29.3 percent to 28.2, while ICU-bed utilization rate slightly increased from 23.5 percent to 23.9 percent.
Article continues after this advertisementThe weekly data also showed that in terms of vaccination progress, fully-vaccinated individuals slightly increased to 72,770,721 (93.18 percent of the target population) after 150,374 additional individuals were vaccinated in the past week.
Article continues after this advertisementOn the other hand, individuals with booster shots now total 18,552,043 after 357,398 additional individuals were inoculated in the same period.
Based on the DOH’s COVID-19 tracker on its website, as of September 11, active COVID-19 infections nationwide currently number 25,684.
