LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte — A national highway in Pagudpud town in Ilocos Norte province remained closed to motorists two days after a series of landslides on Sept. 10.
The latest advisory from the regional office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Monday, Sept. 12, said the Manila North Road at Pancian village in the town remained “closed to all types of vehicles due to major landslides.”
Clearing operations were still ongoing, the DPWH said.
In a separate announcement, the Ilocos Norte provincial government advised travelers going to the northern part of the country to postpone their trips for their safety.
The provincial government described the land and rockslides as “severe” and blocked the road. INQ
