MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.7 earthquake hit Surigao del Norte on Saturday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
State seismologists recorded the earthquake at 7:12 a.m. and located the epicenter of the earthquake 12 kilometers northwest of Burgos, Surigao del Norte.
The tectonic earthquake’s depth of focus was 28 kilometers.
Phivolcs also reported an Instrumental Intensity II in Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.
No aftershocks and damages are expected, Phivolcs said.
