MANILA, Philippines — A tropical storm has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at around 7 p.m. on Wednesday and would then be known locally as Inday, according to the 11 p.m. advisory of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
The center of Inday was spotted 1,355 km east of Central Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 75 kph and a gustiness of 90 kph.
The storm is not expected to make landfall and may not cause an immediate effect on the weather in the Philippines.
However, Inday may enhance the southwest monsoon, or habagat, bringing rains in most parts of the country in the coming days.
