PH logs 1,326 COVID-19 infections; active cases at 23,272

DOH logs 2,202 new COVID-19 infections; active cases at 24,493

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday registered 1,326 new infections of COVID-19, with active cases now at 23,272.

This also raised the country’s total caseload to 3,894,840 nationwide, with 3,809,450 recoveries and 62,118 deaths, based on the DOH’s COVID-19 tracker on its website.

These new cases, however, are still lower than the average number of daily infections recorded from August 29 to September 4 at 2,449.

Metro Manila continued to record the highest number of infections per region in the last two weeks with 9,025 cases, followed by Calabarzon at 4,343, then Central Luzon at 2,829, based on the COVID-19 tracker.

On the other hand, Quezon City is still at the top of the list of areas with the most reported cases in the last two weeks at 2,169, followed by Cavite, which recorded 1,435, and Laguna at 1,160.

Meanwhile, the tracker showed that only 17,756 individuals were tested for COVID-19 on Monday, reflecting the number of recorded infections on Wednesday.
