MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police handed out a total of P3.310 million reward to tipsters who provided vital information that led to the arrest of 14 most wanted persons in the country.
PNP officer-in-charge and deputy chief for administration Lt. Get Jose Chiquito Malayo on Monday gave the cash rewards to the claimants during symbolic ceremonies in Camp Crame, Quezon City, the PNP said in a statement on Tuesday.
The informants led to the arrest of suspects facing charges of murder, rape, forcible abduction with rape, multiple frustrated murder, and multiple attempted murders.
Malayo said the granting of monetary rewards to persons who are instrumental in the arrest, surrender, or death in legitimate operations of ‘most wanted persons’ are among the programs of the PNP for the immediate arrest of wanted persons in the country.—Lyka Farillon, Inquirer.net Intern
