MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police – Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) has filed criminal complaints against 11 persons involved in the abduction and murder of a pharmaceutical company executive.
The complaint for murder, kidnapping for ransom, and arson were filed against 11 persons for the death of Eduardo Tolosa Jr., president and chief executive officer of Iraseth Pharma Inc.
On July 19, onboard a white Toyota Land Cruiser, the victim called up an official of Iraseth to take from his vault US$102,700, 2,800 euros, 186 Singaporean dollars, a Rolex watch, and a Hublot watch. The money and the other items were delivered to him by his driver.
“However, after Mr. Eduardo Tolosa received his personal belongings, his cell phone could no longer be contacted, nor messages be made for his whereabouts,” PNP-AKG Luzon Field Unit Chief Col. Frederick Obar said in the complaint.
On August 6, three of the 11 named in the complaint surrendered.
“Their respective sworn statements revealed the circumstance surrounding the kidnapping for ransom and killing of victim Eduardo Tolosa, the names of their cohorts, the mastermind, and the place where they dumped and burned the body,” read the complaint.
Aside from the burnt Toyota Land Cruiser, which was found in San Luis, Pampanga, law enforcers also found closed circuit television (CCTV) footage showing the victim being driven by an unidentified male, followed by a Mitsubishi Mirage in Parañaque on July 19.
