MANILA, Philippines — The driver of the chief executive officer of a Manila-based pharmaceutical company is among the persons of interest tagged by the police in the latter’s reported disappearance.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has since been investigating the case and its connection with discovering a burned sport utility vehicle (SUV) in San Luis, Pampanga, last July 20.

“May mga magagandang lead tayong sinusundan (We’re already looking into several good leads in the case.),” PNP spokesperson Colonel Jean Fajardo said over ABS-CBN News’ Kabayan on Friday.

While she did not name the persons of interest in the said case, Fajardo disclosed that the driver of the newly purchased SUV was among those the police were looking into.

“Isa po iyan sa tinitingnan natin…iyon pong driver na kasama niya po noong huli siyang nakitang buhay diyan nga po sa parte ng Taguig. Maliban po sa kanya, may ilan pa po tayong persons of interest,” she said.

(The driver who was with him when he was last seen alive in Taguig is being looked into. Aside from him, we also have other persons of interest.)

Fajardo also confirmed reports that P5.7 million in cash and two branded watches were delivered to the victim by his assistant before his disappearance.

“Suffice to say, may mga lead po tayo kagaya nga po ng sasakyan na natagpuan na sa parte ng Pampanga at iyong ibang persons of interest, patuloy po nating hinahanap po,” she added.

(We have leads like the vehicle found in Pampanga, and the other persons of interest are still tracking down.)

The names of both the pharmaceutical company and the missing executive are still being withheld by the police, according to Fajardo.

“I am not at liberty to provide the name of the missing person and other details relating to the case so as not to compromise the ongoing investigation and out of respect to the privacy of the family,” she told INQUIRER.net in a text message.
