MANILA, Philippines — Caloocan City taxpayers may settle business and real property tax dues online following the Monday launch of the online payment city in partnership with GCash, as announced during the city’s regular flag raising ceremony.
“It’s easier, there’s no queue and no need to be absent or file a leave for workers just to pay taxes, especially our senior citizens who are taking their time to go to City Hall,” Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan said in a statement in Filipino.
The payment can be made through the website caloocancity.gov.ph.
Taxpayers may select ‘Gcash’ as a payment method under the ‘online services-assessments and payments’ drop-down menu.
After entering the amount to be paid, a text message shall be sent to the registered mobile number as payment confirmation.
Taxpayers can monitor their transaction history with detailed accounts of their payments.
Aside from paying taxes, residents can register their new businesses, submit requirements and pay the registration fees through the same link. —Lyka Farillon, Inquirer.net intern
