PH logs 3,767 COVID-19 infections, active cases down to 22,259
MANILA, Philippines — An additional 3,767 infections of COVID-19 were recorded by the Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday, with active infections reducing further to 22,259.
With this, the country’s total caseload is now at 3,883,957 nationwide, with 3,799,834 recoveries and 61,864 deaths, based on the DOH’s COVID-19 tracker in its website.
While active cases further decreased, these new cases, however, are higher than the average cases recorded from August 15 to August 21 at 3,412.
Meanwhile, the COVID-19 tracker continued to show that Metro Manila had the highest number of infections per region in the last two weeks with 10,600 cases, followed by Calabarzon at 5,157, then by Central Luzon at 3,452.
On the other hand, Quezon City is still at the top of the list of areas with the most reported cases in the last two weeks at 2,527, followed by Cavite, which recorded 1,720 and Laguna at 1,262.
Article continues after this advertisementMeanwhile, the tracker showed that 21,167 individuals were tested for COVID-19 on Wednesday, reflecting the number of recorded infections on Friday.
