MANILA, Philippines – A suspect in the shooting incident that killed three people in Taguig City last August 21 surrendered to authorities on Thursday afternoon.
The Southern Police District (SPD) confirmed in a statement that 28-year-old suspect Julian Paningbatan Jr., a former member of the Philippine Navy, turned himself in at a studio in Mandaluyong City where Senator Raffy Tulfo’s television program was being filmed.
The Taguig City police later served the suspect warrants of arrest issued by separate regional trial court branches for three counts of car theft and robbery with violence.
SPD chief public information officer Police Major Hazel Asilo later told INQUIRER.net that the arrest order related to the shooting incident is still being processed.
Paningbatan is currently detained at the Taguig Custodial Facility pending issuing a commitment order from the courts of origin.
