Two Zambales towns return to COVID-free status
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Two of the 13 towns in this province became free of COVID-19 as the province continued to experience a downward trend in cases, data released by the provincial health office on Wednesday (August 31) showed.
Masinloc town obtained the status after two patients recovered on Wednesday, while Candelaria’s lone active COVID-19 patient was cleared on Tuesday.
Three other virus-infected patients from the towns of Botolan and San Felipe have recovered from the disease.
As of Wednesday, the province’s active infections had gone down to 41 from 43 the previous day.
Since 2020, the province has reported a total of 12,272 confirmed COVID-19 cases. At least 11,520 have recovered, while 711 have died from the disease.
