6.7-magnitude quake strikes Papua New Guinea—USGS

SYDNEY—A 6.7-magnitude earthquake struck Papua New Guinea Thursday, the US Geological Survey reported, but a tsunami warning was not issued.

The quake struck some 62 kilometers (39 miles) from the Eastern Highlands provincial capital Goroka and 324 kilometers from national capital Port Moresby at a depth of 105 kilometers.
