MANILA, Philippines — More traffic enforcers will be deployed in areas implementing the No Contact Apprehension Program (NCAP) following the suspension issued by the Supreme Cout, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said Wednesday.
MMDA spokesperson Cris Saruca said the agency would increase the number of traffic enforcers in major thoroughfares, namely EDSA, C5 Road, Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon Avenue, Roxas Boulevard, and Macapagal Boulevard.
Saruca said that more than 107,000 violations were recorded by the MMDA from January to August 2022 because of the NCAP policy.
MMDA immediately suspended the NCAP policy after the SC temporary restraining order on Wednesday.
