3 dead, 1 wounded as man shoots drinking pals in Apayao

A shooting incident between drinking buddies left three people dead and another wounded in Apayao province

BAGUIO CITY — Three people were killed and another was wounded when they were shot by their drinking buddy in Santa Marcela town, Apayao province, on Monday (August 29) evening, police said.

Investigators identified the fatalities as Bong Badua Ramirez, 48; Ryan Santi Soriano, 39; and Edmar Turilla Aguinaldo, 30. The wounded was Stephen Jones Baysa Salvatiera, 33.

An initial investigation showed that suspect Norvie Pacheco Romero, 32, and the victims were having a drinking session when Romero suddenly took his firearm from a sling bag and shot his companions.

It was not immediately known what triggered the suspect to shoot the victims.

Police said the suspect shot himself in the head after the incident.

The suspect’s father was charged with obstruction of justice after allegedly removing the gun from the crime scene.
