2 residents, including 6-year-old boy, die in Ilocos Norte shooting incident

LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte — Two residents, including a 6-year-old boy, were killed in a shooting incident in Pagudpud town in Ilocos Norte province on Friday night, August 26, police said in a report Saturday, August 27.

Police identified the victims as Lea Balolong, 39, and John Kurt Daguro, 6, both residents of Barangay (village) Subec.

Initial investigation said that the victims were walking on a roadside going to a store in their village when the suspects, who were riding-in-tandem on a black Honda TMX 155, approached and shot them to death at around 7 p.m.

A dragnet operation was immediately launched on Friday night, with the police saying that the suspects were “wearing maong pants, black jacket, and both with [helmets].”
